Building leaders from the ground

Client profile
Far East Organisation operates across various industries and is one of the largest real estate groups in Singapore.

Challenge
This organization is looking to develop a 3-day leadership development program for employees at the managerial level. The key objective of the program is to develop the participants’ leadership and people management skills in line with the company’s challenges, cultures and values. There is also a need for the program to instill increased accountability, ownership and responsibility amongst the employees as well as focus on building their self-awareness, people management, employee engagement, performance management and communication skills. Most importantly, the organization would like the program to be highly interactive involving experience, exposure and education to maximize employees learning. In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic reached Singapore and employees were mandated to work from home by the government, thus, making the 3-day face-to-face leadership development program delivery no longer possible.

Solution
This organization has selected FLI as the exclusive leadership development partner since 2013.
For the 3-day program prior to COVID-19 pandemic, our FLI consultants in Singapore integrated world class assessment methodologies (including psychometric and 360) and world class development processes (including group activities/discussions, role-plays, self-paced learnings and instructor-led seminars) into the workshop. By the end of the 3-day program delivery, participants were empowered with more than 20 best practice leadership/management tools that they could apply instantly back in their workplace.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, our FLI consultants in Singapore worked with this organization to re-design the 3-day program into a 6-module virtual learning experience with the aim to provide participants with the same amount of experience, exposure and education. To ensure high participant engagement across the modules, participants were assigned to small group learning led by a group facilitator.

Impact
The program has allowed the organization to:

-
Continue to deliver high quality development program to employees even in times of pandemic
-
Enhance the leadership and people management skills of its managers
-
Ensure that all its managers within the organisation work with similar corporate values, behaviours and leadership tools
